Do you know how to update n8n?

I noticed a lot people who are self-hosting n8n don’t know how to update it, which can be a bit confusing.

Although most self-hosting platforms make it really easy to just one-click install n8n, they don’t always give a one-click option to update or downgrade it.
However, most of them do actually provide a way to edit the n8n docker compose file yourself, which is what most of them use in the background for managing your n8n installation.

So I made a quick video that shows you how to update n8n via your docker compose file, hoping it should be able to help you update your local n8n installation, as well as updating it on many self-hosting platforms.
